Daddy has started Nadia's sleep preparation, he says it's time to get her ready.
I must admit to not seeing her around as much recently, daddy says that's because she is beginning to get very tired and can't be bothered to get up in the mornings much. Some days I've noticed she doesn't get up at all and when she does has been walking around the house trying to find somewhere quiet where she won't be disturbed.
Today daddy has told me is the day that he will stop her food. He has to do this each time she goes to sleep for a couple of weeks before she finally beds down. He told me that for tortoises this is something that must happen.
He's still giving her a bathe each week though. He always does this once a week when she's awake without fail. Although she gets water from her food she needs a top up and this is the best way to do it. Something to do with the way tortoise lungs work is why he does it in this way. Although I don't think it's her favourite activity she doesn't seem to mind it too much after the first couple of minutes.
The first couple of minutes she has a little swim around, well at least that's what I think it is. Even after all these years it still fascinates me, I couldn't do that, I hate getting my coat wet.
