And So It Begins The Countdown To Tomorrow

And so it begins the countdown to tomorrow and next year.

Daddy always watches the fireworks from around the world as they happen. I tend to dip in and out, it can be a long all day experience and it can become a bit tedious for such an active cat as myself.

I don't know what I'm going to be doing tonight. I know nanny and granddad are coming down later so I'll pop in to say hello to them but I think I'd rather be spending it with other cats like me.

I wonder what Sofia is doing tonight, it would be nice to spend the year end celebrations with her, somewhere out the back just us two looking up at the local fireworks.

Of course I'll try and be around for midnight, I want to spend it with my family.

Oh well I can but dream. Happy New Year world x

Something Must Have Got His Goat

I've just spotted Mogsie, sitting up on the sunshine shed having a bit of a clean.

I shouted over to say Happy Christmas, even though it was a bit late. I was tempted to go up and join him but something about the look on his face said he wanted some alone time.

He mouthed a Happy Christmas back to me so I know there was no problem and the intense stare wasn't aimed at me. Something must have got his goat though because his attitude definitely said leave me alone!

The Rest Of The Decorations

Well, if they are going to continue to ignore me...

...I'm going to start on the rest of the decorations!

The One Thing I Always Look Forward To

You know the one thing I always looked forward to at Christmas.

It;s not the build up or the tree, although the baubles are great fun, or even all the extra food which to be honest I'm not that bothered about at all but it's nice to have the choice.

No the best thing I always look forward to at Christmas is when the house goes quiet and the duvet comes out onto the sofa and I get it all to myself.

Ahhh!

Keeping My Biscuits To Myself

As much as I enjoy having family and friends around I'm the sort of cat that prefers to sit in the background rather than take centre stage. I'll save that for those who like the limelight. I like to sit and watch proceedings, participating when I choose to and not when called.
Although sometimes I will join them, keeping my biscuits to myself, just pottering on with my day.
I looked out for my friends, Mogsie or Twizzle to say hi from over the road but I didn't see any of them. At this time of the year I do like to hang around with other cats, we're creatures of habits and Christmas is a very special time for us too.
The changing of the seasons has commenced the sun has just come out of her three days rest at the shortest day of the year and now she's beginning to rebirth herself and us cats being very spiritual animals follow the same traditions.

A Boxing Day tradition in this house is falling fast asleep I'm learning to adopt that one too.

Merry Christmas Etc

It's been a very long day. It started out quiet early. I had to break into the bedroom to wake River and my daddies up. They were having a bit of a sleep in, I think it was a late night last night and they all needed some assistance. There were presents downstairs and I wanted them opening.
But we had to wait for nanny and granddad to come. It's thirsty work waiting.
But finally they turned up, everyone said hello, Merry Christmas etc, hug, hug, kiss, kiss,
Then finally time to get on with it. Presents for me and David. I got a ball and some treats.
And River got something very perplexing, that confused us all but I was assured by Daddy a laugh later when he got it sorted, I said I was looking forward to that.
Then it was time for dinner, well I thought it was, it actually turned out to be time to wait again.
And such a fuss when it arrived. Bowls of turkey, not my kinda thing, I prefer my usual food so whinged on until I got it, River however was in heaven.
An afternoon stroll, a bit of a sleep upstairs in the office, getting myself some alone time and the evening finds me back with everyone, watching people's lives on the TV, listening to some quiz daddy had advised and some food tip-bits that I've gone searching for. Yes all in all a very satisfying day.

Christmas Eve Has Arrived

Well we're all set and prepared, yes Christmas Eve has arrived.

Daddy has been out in the kitchen baking ginger bread men.

River's got herself over excited.

Then I saw why, Nanny and Granddad had arrived.

I said hello, then retired upstairs to let the atmosphere calm down, I'm like Daddy, we like to sleep and lay about on days like these.

When I heard calmness I came down to look at the presents under the tree for us. I didn't have a clue what to get River so I'll spoil her tomorrow.

And now that Daddies cousin has arrived we're all here and set. I'm not unsociable though even though I am feeling very tired today, I think it's all the excitement.

Yes a very Happy Christmas Eve.

Some Christmas Vibes

It was lovely having nanny here to look after us but I was secretly glad when my daddies came home, it must be something about their smell but I did miss them. I also am a cat of culture and didn't want to overload them when they got back so I bid my time until this morning when I decided to see what they have been up to.
They went to Amsterdam Daddy told me, I know it's one of their favourite places, they always have a good time when they go there.

This time it was to get some Christmas vibes. Daddy said he wished it snowed but it didn't. It did look very frosty and cold though.
This Amsterdam place seems a very unusual place, every time they go and come back and I get to see what they were up to there's something new that's occurred.

This time they met a skull creature made out of crystals. I think it would have scared me a bit, but they said it was fine and there was nothing to be concerned about, he must have seen the look in my eyes.

Luckily they escaped the crystal diamond skull and got back to some more Christmas type things.
Amsterdam people must love cats a great deal, they had a big gold solid one in a window where people went to pay homage to. If I had realised we were held in such high regard I would have snuck in their bags and gone to see for myself.
Their hotel was lovely apparently, right on Dam Square. I didn't really care or know where that is but I did care about the chair outside their room, I had fallen in love with it and secretly I've got my fingers crossed that I might be getting one for Christmas, a chair all to myself that I won't have to fight River to get on.
They always do lots of exploring when they go. This time was a special trip though as they went to see The Festival of Lights. There are lights everywhere all over the place, making things look pretty.

They really do put on a good show.
And some of it is magic as well. Daddy touched this one thing and lightening bolts shot out of the top of his hands.
And lots of people paid homage to the lights all over the place. Daddy said people really enjoyed it. I can see why.

Even the shop windows are lite up pretty like rainbows.
And there was even more homage to us cats, almost everywhere they went.

But I think some of the cats went a bit rough and ate something funny as they came across some very disturbing homages as well. I don't think I would have enjoyed coming across some of them after a heavy night out.

But I would have been OK even if I did, as Amsterdam is a place where magic is everywhere, they even have signs saying so, they are so brazen about it.

Night time is their favourite time of the day over there thought, that's when all the lights come on and it looks like a real life Christmas village.

Full of Christmas cheer.
So much Christmas cheer that some people must have driven their bikes right into the canal.
But it would have been OK, they even have rainbows in canals over there in that place.
And Elves and Pixie's to help them out. I do hope I can break Greego's spell soon and get him back awake, I think he would have some very funny tales to tell about Amsterdam...
...like the day the three naughty babies stole a horse and went for an adventure.

Rising To The Challenge - On The Cards Tonight

We've heard from our daddies and they are having a lovely time and will be back in time for Christmas, of that I had no doubt.

As I said yesterday I've been left in charge and am really rising to the challenge. I've so far managed to get as much food as I want and been allowed to sleep wherever I want, I'm usually not allowed to go into the main bedroom as I keep on waking River up and making her jump all over everyone but now I am.

Actually I think that's a good idea, nanny hasn't experienced that fun so far. Yes I think that'll be on the cards tonight.
